Event Details

  • Detroit's Ride of Silence will meet at Belle Isle (Shelter 8) on May 17, 2017 at 7:00pm.

The Ride of Silence is a free ride that asks its cyclists to ride no faster than 12 mph, wear helmets, follow the rules of the road and remain silent during the ride.

Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways.

There are no sponsors and no registration fees.

The ride, which is held during National Bike Month, aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways.

Ride distance: approx. 10 miles. This is the largest Ride of Silence in Southeastern Michigan. The primary organizers and supporters of this event are Miller Canfield Cyclists and Wheelhouse Detroit.

This ride is sweeper-supported. We request that riders wear helmets and carry an extra tube.
