According the Clawson's local ordinances, Sec.78-155, no person shall ride a bike upon a sidewalk within any of Clawson's business districts. Although it is permissible to ride upon the sidewalks within the residential districts except where signed and prohibited.

Section 78-155 - Riding on sidewalks.

(a)It shall be permissible for any person to ride a bicycle upon any sidewalk within a residential district except upon sidewalks where regulatory signs placed by the chief of police prohibit bicycle riding. No person, however, shall ride a bicycle upon a sidewalk within any business district.

(b)Any person riding, using or operating any bicycle upon any sidewalk in the city shall not meet or pass any person at a rate of speed exceeding four miles an hour and shall, before meeting or passing such person, or pedestrian, give a clearly audible signal and shall not strike, run against or injure any person on any such sidewalk and, in case of danger or striking, running against or injuring any person on any such sidewalk, shall dismount until such danger is passed.

Section 78-156 - Riding abreast on sidewalks.

Persons riding a bicycle on the sidewalk shall not ride abreast.

Section 78-157 - Operating without hands on handlebars.

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or have in motion any bicycle without both hands on the handlebars and in a position to properly steer and control the direction of the bicycle.
