163 W Nine Mile Rd, Ferndale, MI 48220, USA   Get Direction

Known for it's FGFS, BMX, competitive racing, extreme sports like urban snowboarding and bike polo. This small indepdendant bike shop is filled with bikes and local swag. Here you'll find colorful cruisers, commuting gear, racing bikes, urban fixies and a common sense approach to small business that you can only find in a shop it's size.

The shop is located in the heart of Downtown Ferndale on 9-mile, main street just west of Woodward.

It's a small boutique-sized shop filled top to bottom with bikes of all kinds; new and used, mountain bikes, urban fixies, race bikes, commuters, comfort cruisers. Along with the bikes you can also find some cool locally made bike swag like clothing and home-brew biking equipment.

The owner, Jon Hughes, is known for his small-business and common sense approach to cyling. He is also known for his racing pedigree; particularly track racing. He has 3 generations of independantly owned small bike shop experience and a lifetime's worth of cycling knowledge.

The Downtown Ferndale Bike Shop opened in 2009. It immediately became well known for it's bold new take on cycling; particularly urban FGFS. With it's wintertime in-shop freestyle parties, behind-the-shop DIY half-pipe freestyle parties, and it's urban snowboarding outings the shop quickly became well known for having a fun "bad-boy" and rebelous take on urban cycling fun.

The shop is staffed with a wide variety of biking personalities from professional race-day warriors, to commuters, to fixed-gear bmx riders, to hard-core bike polo enthusiasts. The shop presents a common sense, indepedenantly and owned easy-to-understand approach to cycling in general.
